Training Path
Becoming a neurosurgeon requires completing a medical degree, followed by one of the longer surgical residency training programs, given the complexity and precision required for operating on the brain and spinal cord. Many neurosurgeons pursue further fellowship training in a specific area, such as spinal surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, or neurovascular surgery.
